About the Role
We’re seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join the catering team at a prestigious private school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who takes pride in producing high-quality, nutritious food within a supportive and professional environment.
Working alongside the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional meals for pupils and staff, as well as supporting hospitality and school events.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth, efficient service
- Prepare and cook fresh, seasonal dishes to high standards
- Support menu planning, stock control, and ordering
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
- Help deliver special functions and school events when required
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef
- Background in volume catering, banqueting, education, or contract catering preferred
- Passion for fresh, healthy, and balanced cooking
- Excellent organisation and leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
- A positive attitude and team-focused mindset
