What is Live-In Care
Our elderly clients depend on their dedicated Live-In home support to assist with daily activities ensuring they can remain independent within their own home. You will have your own bedroom within the client’s house and provide a variety of care and support including:
- Companionship - Meal preparation & cooking - Medication monitoring & prompting - Personal care - Housework & domestic duties - Shopping trips - Assistance with mobility - Social visit to see friends & family - Attending hospital/doctor appointments

Earn Well & Save Whilst Making a Difference
The rate of pay is linked to the complexity of the Client’s needs and starts at £700 per week. You will also benefit from:
- Holiday pay
- Employer’s National Insurance contributions
- Pension contributions
Living costs whilst staying with a Client are also exceptionally low as your meals and accommodation are provided so this role offers a great opportunity to save up for a rainy day or even send money home to your own family.
How Long Will You Stay With Each Client?
Typically, Live-in Carers work in blocks of between 2 and 12 weeks (you decide) before taking a well-deserved break of a few days to a whole month (you decide) before returning back to the same Client. However, after a period of time with the same Client, you may like a fresh challenge with a different Client.
Job Security & Consistency
A foremost concern of Live-in Cares is “ what happens if my Client unexpectedly goes into to hospital long term or sadly passes away?
Nationally, Right at Home has 70 branches and 15 of them are within 25 miles of High Wycombe. So, should your assignment unexpectedly end you have the option of working temporarily with one of our local sister branches whilst we organise your next Client in the High Wycombe area.
Support Before, During & After Each Assignment
Moving into someone’s home to deliver Care and support can initially seem a daunting prospect, so we have a member of our management dedicated to Live-in Caregivers and Clients.
- When you start with a new Client, she will take you there, introduce you to the Client and get you settled in.
- She will be in contact with you weekly over the phone and face to face.
- You will participate in monthly team meetings, have refresher training and supervisions at the office.
- Crucially, you will feel part of a team and know that advice, support and a friendly face is just a phone call away day and night.
You can take comfort in knowing that all of our Clients are within 12 miles of our High Wycombe office, so we can be there quick-sharp if you are in a pickle.
